Let's join our friends at Wesley UMC in praying every day at 4:10 PM.
Good afternoon friends and Wesley Church family. I'm Pastor Doug and its 4:10 pm and time for our daily prayer. Did you remember yesterday? Dee and I set the alarm on our phones. We sat in our car in the Rite-Aid parking lot and prayed-it felt good to pause and give thanks for God's care and reminded ourselves to place our trust in Him.
Our prayer time is based on Isaiah 41:10 that reminds us of this.
Do not fear, for I am with you, do not be afraid, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.
So, I just wanted to encourage you with this quick reminder to stop whatever you're doing each day at 4:10 pm and pray. We will be united in faith and prayer for our community and the world.
Let us pray together right now.
Please be with all of the emergency responders, doctors and nurses who are exposing their own health to save others. Protect them from exposure, both physical and emotional. Guide their hands and give them wisdom. Protect their families as they spend extended time away from home.
Be with our leaders as they discern the best way to protect us and provide for us as all our lives are disrupted and we shelter in place.
Be with each of us as we face unemployment, ave more questions than answers and seek to trust you fully but battle our own fears and concerns.
Help us to be people of faith knowing that you will be with us, you will be our strength, you will be our help and you will be our protector.
We pray this in Jesus' name. AMEN.
